Dr. Keun Oh is an emerging conductor of dynamic performance and a diverse repertoire.

He has been serving as a conductor at various orchestras and symphonic/operatic projects.

He was selected as a finalist at the 53rd Besançon International Conducting Competition France,

and as a top-ten conductor at the Antal Doráti International Conducting Competition, Budapest, Hungary.

 

Keun Oh had served as an assistant conductor for Maestro Ronald Zollman, a music director at the National Orchestra of Belgium, and for Maestro Thomas Cockrell, the music director of Arizona Symphony. He has been working with various orchestras including Arizona Symphony, Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic, Budapest Symphony and Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche-Comté. He was also invited to conduct at many events such as Stravinsky Festival and Latin Music Festival, and continues to expand his presence throughout Asia, Europe and North America. He has been carrying out successful performances of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte,

Der Schauspieldirektor, and Menotti’s The Medium, The Old Maid and The Thief, Donizetti’s L'elisir d'amore,

J. Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and Rossini’s La Cenerentola at the University of Arizona Production.

Keun Oh is an active composer, who studied music composition under Sungho Ji and Daniel Asia.

His choral and chamber works are performed across the world. Serving as the conductor at CMU Contemporary Ensemble and Arizona Contemporary Ensemble, he collaborated with many contemporary composers and premiered their works.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Keun Oh began studying piano at the age of five with his mother and later studied flute, violin and organ. He is also an active composer and pianist. He received his Bachelor’s degree

in Music at Yonsei University, South Korea, a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting at Carnegie Mellon University, and a Doctorate degree in Orchestral & Opera Conducting at the University of Arizona.
